Lifting The Lid

Being made redundant from something your `comfortable` working with is never easy. Its like having a rug taken from underneath you but the honest truth was I saw it coming possibly a year before it happened last May. To say the next 6 months was a fraudulent nightmare is and will for ever be an understatement. I cant go into to much detail around the Impress Sandwiches Sales role as Im under a confidentiality agreement around an ongoing situation. The long and the short of it, they actually produce brilliant products however the infustructure, costs, and general poor management and general lazy commercial manager Steve Buss didn't help one bit. I explored every single avenue possible in the 6 months I was there but the contract catering arena is sown up so to sell or upsell products is nigh on impossible, sure you`ll pick up the odd thing here and there but the inability to deliver nationwide will spell the death knell of this company within 5 years unless they do something drastic like sack the owners, 2 unscrupulous people with no care for anyone except lining there own pockets and letting everyone else do the work. That's enough said about that. Then I move onto this name Niminsha Raja, to read the press you`d think she was the second coming but the truth and reality behind all the hype is she is a spiteful, poor business women who has no clue on handling big contracts and delivering the job. Hiding behind social media and pointless consumer and trade shows I will bet my house that you will never see her fruit crisp products in any major retailer. I spent 3 weeks in a sub zero office because the heating was broken trying to salvage the past 2 years worth of mess, using an internet connection that was at best 3g, emails that you would send take 3 days to arrive and total abuse of human rights as an employee. This women would work from 5am to 10pm at night and achieve nothing. When she said I wasn't needed anymore I breathed a deep breath and said thank you. Although she lumbered me with a 14k car for the next 5 years I actually thought that's not so bad considering!! A little tip. You cant sell thousands of boxes of dried orange mainly cos they taste bloody awful, if that were me the best place would be to set them on fire. No direction no clue, just randomly purchasing raw materials with no idea what to do with them, constantly changing packaging and products. There's 3 hopes...and this company is all 3, bob, no and Stanford le... No big retailer or wholesale will touch these products with a barge poll. so thank heavens for small mercies, I got out of there and into something now actually really good where you feel valued and gives me some freedom to breath and take stock rather than jumping into another disaster.
